About Baby University

Baby University was founded by Ana Brandt to provide one comprehensive roadmap for newborn photographers who want to build a consistent, profitable, and well-rounded baby photography business.

After more than 27 years in the industry — and teaching for over half of that time — Ana recognized a pattern. Many photographers were talented, but they lacked structure. They had taken scattered workshops, watched tutorials, or tried different styles… yet they didn’t have a complete, start-to-finish system.

Baby University was created to change that.

This program brings everything together — artistry, safety, lighting, workflow, editing, marketing, and business — into one guided experience designed specifically for newborn photographers.

Frequently Asked Questions

How does it work? When are lessons released?

Beginning March 4th, lessons will be released weekly over six weeks.

Each week, a new lesson drops for your track, along with suggested assignments to help you apply what you learn immediately.

Assignments may include:
• Working with live models
• Still object practice
• Lighting exercises
• Theory application
• Editing practice

Assignments are encouraged for growth but are completely voluntary.

A private Facebook group will be available for assignment submissions, discussion, and community support.

What if I don’t finish my assignment within the week?

You may work at your own pace.

There are no penalties. Submit whenever you are ready. Growth is more important than speed.

How is this different from other courses?

Every program is different, but Baby University is intentionally designed to be comprehensive.

Rather than focusing on one technique, style, or trend, this program covers all foundational areas required to build a strong newborn business — from artistry to client experience to pricing and marketing.

Why did you create this program?

After decades in the industry and mentoring thousands of photographers, Ana saw a recurring issue:

Baby University was created to provide one structured path from start to finish, so newborn photographers can build a business with confidence, clarity, and consistency.

Will you add more programs in the future?

Yes.

This is just the beginning.

We plan to expand with additional topics, advanced tracks, guest instructors, and future translations into other languages.

What is included in the pricing?

Will I receive a certificate and badge?

Yes.

Upon completion, students receive:

While this is not an accredited academic degree, it is a professional certification recognizing your completion of the program.

Will there be a referral list for graduates?

Yes.

Upon request, students who complete the program may be listed on our site so potential clients can feel confident hiring photographers who have completed Baby University training.

I signed up a few years ago when the program paused. Do I need to sign up again?

No.

This is the same program — refreshed and updated.

All previously enrolled students will be included in the relaunch and do not need to register again.

Why did the program pause?

Shortly after the original launch, Ana experienced the loss of her mother. Navigating grief during that time required stepping back.

We appreciate your understanding and are incredibly grateful for your patience.

We are now returning with renewed clarity and an all-new program — stronger and more complete than before.

Is there an official degree?

Baby University does not grant an accredited academic degree.

However, graduates receive:
